Discover Twenty-Nine Latest Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion (Featuring a Commander-Style Deck!)
Everyone's beloved pizza-loving heroes are arriving to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known trading card game's company, the game's creators, revealed a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a exclusive panel hosted at New York Comic Con. Could this be a exciting new set or simply another crossover cash grab? We'll let you be the judge.
Check out here at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, along with key context. All items mentioned below launches on March 6, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle drops a couple of weeks after on March 27th.
Magic x TMNT: Core Set Reveals
Before we get into the many unique products and bundles on offer, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the set are set at $6.99 each, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per booster.
Let's unpack a couple of shell-shocking features. First, there's a new mechanic named Sneak, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu, where gamers can cheat big creatures into the game field whenever an attacker isn’t blocked. The key change in this case is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells too. Wizards also used this chance to clean up the ability a bit (It is treated as casting, as opposed to Ninjutsu). The original ability isn't going away, but chances are we'll see Sneak in future sets from now on.
Should we were to return to Kamigawa, we might use Ninjutsu because that plane is it originated and it is iconic to that,” a senior game designer explained. “However on other planes, since the mechanics are smoother and the new ability will be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use the updated version.”
Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is one of four cards with special art designed exclusively for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman.
Additionally, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing cards outside of your main deck, many players were. Yet as per Wizards, that's now a legal card in all formats of Magic.
In any case, below are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from the TMNT set:
Following Wizards of the Coast's current policy, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers state they took care to make sure the new cards and gameplay elements meshed well with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.
“I headed the design for over a year and we knew it would be in standard and which sets would be alongside it in Standard,” the designer says. “Our goal was to ensure that they work well with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”
As an instance, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet archetype focused on artifacts.
“They combine to offer the components for a fun Standard-legal deck,” the designer added.
Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!
After declining to create any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it includes six different legendary cards that can serve as your Commander depending on how you combine them (five cards include a unique Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command area rather than just one). Check them out below:
The Turtle Power deck is priced at $69.99, although that could easily go up due to popularity. Wizards told that it includes 43 new cards in total, which means an additional thirty-seven TMNT-themed cards in addition to the six legendary commanders pictured earlier. (Calculating roughly, this suggests about 20 reprints if we assume the precon includes 37 lands.)
How will the TMNT version of Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and see.
TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)
Typically, the company is selling a collection. It is priced at $69.99 and contains the listed items:
- 9 Play Boosters
- Fifteen Foil land cards
- Fifteen Non-foil basic lands
- 2 Reference cards
- 1 Traditional foil promo card
- 1 Oversized life tracker

Pizza-Themed Bundle
This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, primarily because it comes in a box resembling a pizza box. Every pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and comes with the items below:
- Nine Play Boosters
- One Collector Booster
- 25 Non-foil pizza lands
- Five Traditional foil pizza basic lands
- Two Traditional foil pizza bundle promo cards

If you’re wondering what a “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring brand-new TMNT art. The team revealed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter adding black licorice pieces on a pizza slice. There are six distinct pizza promos available.
The Pizza Bundle releases a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.
Draft Night
This special bundle is designed for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. It includes:

- 1 Draft insert (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)
Cooperative Play Set
Lastly, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to create Magic game products specifically for new players. Here, the cooperative set is a special set of prebuilt decks that allow two players join forces to face a “Boss” deck that plays automatically.
The concept is that every Boss card grants special abilities to the creature cards included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts an additional card per turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
