Battlefield 6 Players Are Convinced: Missions Are Way Too Hard

The launch of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 received widespread acclaim, particularly for its top-tier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, concurrent player counts reached a high of nearly 750,000. Yet, regardless of its fanfare, many players are protesting against several of the title's hardest challenges, which are necessary to access certain guns.

Users have commenced turning to tailored sessions created through the custom game tool to finish these tasks, underscoring just how demanding these assignments have become.

Grasping BF6 Objectives

Missions serve as Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, in contrast to the frequently updated daily and weekly challenges. It features four classes of assignments, but where most only reward skins and a few gadgets, finishing the gun missions is the exclusive means of getting twelve from the forty-one main guns found within the game.

Some of these locked weapons could shortly make their appearance on rankings for the top weapons in Battlefield 6.

Player Outcry across Reddit

On Reddit, players are reasonably expressing their worries about how challenging and repetitive some of these challenges are. A particular gamer highlighted one of the most egregious examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
  • Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs

"This mission is so awful and completely out of mind, I want to tear my hair out," is a comment that illustrates just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.

The suppression feature in the game is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it lacks nearly as many advantages in battle as it had in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.

Meanwhile, hipfiring an LMG is wildly inaccurate and only works at extremely close range, which is seldom the location you prefer to be. The same user also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that mission would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and the other way around.

Another Ridiculously Tough Task

A different forum member brought attention to a further incredibly demanding challenge, within the marksman rifle class to obtain the PSR:

  • Get 150 headshot kills from more than 200 meters away with long-range weapons

This is tough enough by itself, but there's another important point to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at such a long range.

There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but since there are only nine levels in the game right now, it implies you must stick to playing one of the larger locales, a particular valley environment, and maybe an additional option if you're lucky if you plan to engage from afar from beyond 200 meters.

The Workaround

However, there is a solution: the portal. The custom game creator is a tool that allows you to make custom game modes on any map you prefer, featuring computer-controlled players. This means you can bypass the intended method… but it doesn't really seem like the intended gameplay experience.

Yet, if tackling the tasks in a normal session seems counterproductive, since you are forced to participate in such an atypical style that offers no advantage to anyone, is it surprising for completing them in a personal session so teammates aren't hindered?

Potential Changes

It is expected if some of these assignments are adjusted to be less difficult in the near future, because unless they are modified, certain gamers simply won't get their hands on the gated weapons.

For now, the community continues to voice their opinions on these strenuous battlefield assignments, expecting a more balanced overall gameplay in future updates.
