Barcelona to Host Inaugural Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday

Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating to allow renovations to start.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans are permitted inside as per the current authorization. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.

Recent Activities

Barça organized a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch in early November. The club said approval is being pursued from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
